We supply you with Energy Blue by default. If you would like a more environmentally conscious or more affordable product, you can switch at any time.

The electricity from your socket is physically the same, regardless of the product you choose. The difference lies in how it is generated: our products differ in their electricity mix, certification and origin. With your choice, you help determine which electricity production BKW invests in.

Three products for different needs

Choose between Energy Green, Energy Blue and Energy Grey.

The products differ in terms of electricity mix, origin, certification and price. Prices are based on the applicable tariff sheet.

  100% naturemade star-certified green electricity from solar, hydropower, wind power or biomass – preferably from regional production facilities.

  100% renewable electricity: 15% naturemade star certified green electricity and 85% naturemade basic certified electricity from hydropower.

  Cost-effective electricity supply from conventional, proven large-scale power plants in Switzerland and abroad – mainly nuclear energy, supplemented by hydropower.

Guarantees of origin show how, when and where your electricity was produced – for example from solar, wind or hydropower. The Swiss naturemade quality label provides additional guidance. It recognises electricity from renewable energy sources and stands for verified quality standards. Tariffs

This is how the electricity price is composed

The electricity tariff is recalculated annually and consists of several components.

The electricity price is made up of the energy tariff, grid usage tariff, metering tariff and levies payable to the public authorities. Details of the individual components and all tariff sheets can be found on the Electricity tariffs page.
