Understanding your bill in an LEG
As a participant in a local electricity community, you will continue to receive a BKW bill – as well as a bill from your LEG.

Invoicing logic
Two bills instead of one
BKW bills the electricity from the public grid. The LEG bills the solar power exchanged within the community itself.
In a local electricity community, producers and consumers use locally produced solar power via the public distribution grid. For the electricity you obtain from the LEC, the LEC operator organises the billing independently. The BKW bill remains relevant for grid usage, metering, levies and any additional residual electricity purchased.

Invoice in detail
Which positions are relevant
The BKW invoice will continue to cover services relating to the public distribution grid and additional electricity consumption.
The LEG invoice clearly distinguishes between BKW services and the community’s internal billing. Click on the plus sign (+). There you will find an explanation of the relevant invoice item.
Process
How the LEG bill is calculated
BKW supplies metering data and bills for its services. The LEG organises the internal electricity billing.
The specific internal billing arrangements are contractually agreed between participants and the LEG operator.
01Measurement with smart meterBKW measures the production and consumption of the individual participants via smart meters.02Data to the LEGThe metering data is made available to the LEG operator so that internal electricity consumption and internal production can be billed.03Separate invoicesBKW bills the electricity drawn from the public grid as well as metering, levies and grid usage. The LEG bills the internally exchanged solar power separately.
More about the LEG
