Calculation based on the SFOE reference market price
The feed-in remuneration is based on the Swiss-wide harmonised reference market price of the Federal Office of Energy.
The reference market price is a weighted average of the day-ahead market prices for the Swiss market area and is calculated for each technology. The SFOE sets it retrospectively for each quarter and publishes the values after the end of the quarter. BKW adopts these values automatically, adjusts the remuneration on a quarterly basis and then issues the credit note.

Guarantees of origin
What a guarantee of origin says
A guarantee of origin is issued for every kilowatt hour of electricity generated.
The guarantee of origin confirms the location, time and technology of electricity production, for example solar energy. It is decoupled from the physical flow of electricity and can be traded as an independent certificate. Communication should therefore clearly distinguish between physical feed-in, financial remuneration and guarantees of origin.
