Good to know
What is a plug-and-play photovoltaic system?
Plug-and-play systems are small plug-in photovoltaic systems that make solar power directly usable in the home.
As an owner – or in consultation with your landlord – you can install a plug-and-play photovoltaic system. The maximum output per meter circuit, for example per single-family home or flat in an apartment building, must not exceed 600 watts. The system must comply with the requirements of the Ordinance on Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment.

Why registration is necessary
Small plug-in photovoltaic systems also feed electricity into the home grid and must therefore be reported to the grid operator.
By registering, BKW can assign the system to the correct connection, check the technical details and set up the remuneration for energy fed back into the distribution grid. If your system requires a meter replacement, BKW will inform you directly.
