What the charges cover
Your electricity tariff consists of the energy tariff, the grid usage tariff and charges.
The levies comprise two elements: firstly, the federal levy set by the Swiss Confederation for nationwide measures to promote renewable energy, such as feed-in remuneration, investment contributions for hydropower and biomass, or renovation measures. Secondly, they include the levy paid to the canton/municipality. This is used to pay compensation in connection with grid usage, for example for the use of public land.
