You choose the origin of your electricity product

The physical electricity from the socket remains the same – the electricity products differ in their composition and certification.

If your company consumes less than 100,000 kWh of electricity per year, you receive electricity through BKW’s local supply. By default, BKW supplies you with Energy Blue. If you prefer a more environmentally focused product or a more price-conscious option, you can adjust your electricity product.

Guarantees of origin make electricity quality traceable

Every kilowatt hour is declared so that the origin of the electricity is shown transparently.

Guarantees of origin are electronic documents. They show how, when and where electricity was produced – for example, from hydropower, solar energy, wind power or biomass.

Prices depend on the applicable tariff sheets. The energy tariff is part of the electricity tariff; grid usage and charges are shown separately.

How to change your electricity product

The change will take place within 30 days, effective on the 1st of the following month.

If your company moves into the supply area or relocates within the supply area, you will generally receive Energy Blue. You can then change your electricity product in the customer portal or by phone through customer service.
