Feed-in remuneration
Feed in solar power and get paid
If your photovoltaic system produces more electricity than you consume yourself, you can feed the surplus into the BKW grid. BKW compensates you for this electricity in accordance with the applicable regulations.

How it works
The remuneration is based on the reference market price and the minimum remuneration.
The SFOE reference market price is set quarterly. For certain PV systems up to 150 kW, a guaranteed minimum remuneration also applies.
The electricity fed into the grid in the BKW grid area is remunerated at the Swiss-wide harmonised reference market price. This is set by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) based on the average market price, weighted by feed-in profile and technology. If this price is below the guaranteed minimum remuneration, you will receive the minimum remuneration for eligible installations.
Classification
What is important for households
The feed-in remuneration applies to the electricity that you do not consume yourself and feed into the grid.
Self-consumption usually remains the most important lever for your electricity costs. The feed-in remuneration complements it when your system produces more than your household currently needs.
SurplusOnly electricity fed into the grid is remuneratedThe electricity fed into the public grid by your PV system is remunerated. Electricity you consume yourself directly reduces the amount of electricity you draw from the grid.Market priceQuarterly in arrearsThe SFOE reference market price is published after the end of the quarter. BKW adjusts the remuneration accordingly and issues the credit note.Minimum remunerationMore predictable for systems up to 150 kWFor certain PV systems up to 150 kW, a guaranteed minimum remuneration applies if the reference market price is lower.

Basis of remuneration
The specified values correspond to the reference market price of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) and the statutory minimum remuneration. The table shows the remuneration for photovoltaic systems. The remuneration for other technologies can be found in the price sheet for feed-in remuneration.

All amounts in rp./kWh are exclusive of VAT.
Minimum remuneration for systems from 30 to 150 kW
The minimum remuneration depends on the capacity of your system. It is calculated using the formula 180 ÷ system capacity in kW.
Examples: For a system with 30 kW, you receive 6 rp./kWh (calculation: 180/30=6); for 90 kW, it is 2 rp./kWh (180/90=2), and for 150 kW, the minimum remuneration is 1.2 rp./kWh (180/150=1.2).
This is how remuneration has developed
The remuneration for fed-in solar power can rise or fall. Here you can see how it has developed in recent years.

As the operator of a PV system, from 1 July 2026 you can benefit from dynamic remuneration based on the hourly electricity market price. This reflects the value of the energy fed into the grid more accurately: remuneration is lower in hours when there is a surplus of electricity and higher in hours when there is demand for electricity.

How to receive the remuneration
Connect, register and feed in your installation
To receive a feed-in remuneration, your system must be connected to the public electricity grid and registered with BKW.
Your specialist partner will support you with connection, registration and commissioning. Billing is generally carried out on a quarterly basis. The invoice will show whether the electricity fed into the grid was remunerated according to the minimum remuneration or the market price.
